Charles Grey, the 2nd Earl, had this tea blended for him by a Chinese mandarin to suit the limey water at his Northumbrian seat, Howick Hall.
Its distinctive sweet citrus flavour comes from natural oil of Bergamot, a fruit similar to a grapefruit. The base teas, from India, China and Africa, give a delicate flavour but enough strength to support the Bergamot.
The blue cornflower petals are arrestingly beautiful and give the blend a very distinctive appearance.
